Big Brother 23 First Impressions (From one photo and a short questionnaire. UPDATE: We got some video!)

Hello again beautiful people. It is that time of year again. Summer is here and it's time for my FIRST IMPRESSIONS of the Big Brother 23 House Guests! Hard to believe I've been watching this show faithfully since 2007. Wowza. So, a couple of notes. First, CBS has been going through a major shift. The head of CBS left a few years ago due to scandal. We've had a few programming executives move up or leave.  The casting director, Robyn Kass , 'stepped away' and this year's casting was done by someone else. And finally, CBS pledged to have more people of color in their reality show casts. I am writing these impressions right after the initial reveal, with a photo and a short questionnaire answered by each HG. No word on if we are getting video interviews. I imagine we must, but this has been a wonky preseason, so, who knows. UPDATE: Now with a few videos where the HGs answered questioned and posed for the camera, I've added some new impressions for HGs that

It's that time of year again, everyone! Let's get down to business! Despite extreme backlash and even a canceled flight, Big Jeff made it to LA to honor getting his gig back as Big Brother Interviewer. I do not know why CBS keeps bringing him back. I think that's an extremely stupid decision. Ross was a great interviewer, I hope we see him return before too long. Anyhow- We have newbies again! There were rumblings of returning house guests, but thankfully, that seems to have been false. I've said many times I really enjoy the game best with all new people. And, when you have returning players mixed in with some newbies, that never works. So, I am very happy to see all newbies. All different levels of game knowledge, which is a fun recipe for drama. So, here are my impressions. JACKSON I know what you're thinking... BigBro, you like Jackson the most cause he's the jock of the season! Even Jeff couldn't resist teasing him about looking like a

Big Brother 20: House Guest Impressions

The world is a mess, you guys. We all need a vacation. Thankfully, summer is here, and that means it's time for my favorite show of escapist TV: BIG BROTHER. House Guests were revealed on CBS All Access on June 18 th . Mr. Jeff Schroeder somehow landed a gig on another tv show, so he is gone (hopefully for good) and in his place was Ross Matthews, the runner-up of the first US season of Big Brother Celebrity. Ross is a host by trade and did interview House Guests during BB11. (I believe it was before they entered the house, but not sure.) After thinking it over, Ross started out frazzled, but by the end of the reveal (which was over two hours), he had found his footing. Let's be clear, he's way better than Jeff. So much better. The main thing about Ross is he is invested in this show. He watches. And he couldn't stop giving side-eye when he did not agree or gasping with excitement when he liked someone. Point being, I am so glad we have another interviewer

Who Should Win America's Favorite Player?

So. Talk about a shit-show. #BB19 had so much promise. But, Production decided to fuck it all up. They brought back Paul. I can't say enough that mixing vets with newbies never works. Even if there's only one vet, the playing field becomes terribly uneven. Executive Producer Allison Grodner was asked before the season began about the criticism of bringing a vet back. And she said one returning player shouldn't matter. Grodner's comments in a Hollywood Reporter Interview Yikes. Talk about words coming back to haunt you. Paul single handily managed to round up all the house guests into doing his bidding. His 'celebrity' of having played before was enough to make them be starstruck. Production decided to tempt the house guests with special powers this season. The HGs would receive a power by public vote. The first power was safety for three weeks. Now, who do you think people are going to vote for first? Most people watching are goin
