It's time for AMERICA'S VOTE!

Well, here we are: Week 2 of #bbott is beginning.

Last evening, an HG was evicted and a new HG was crowned HOH. (Literally.)

Alex, moments before she became the new HOH.

So, BBOTT has been a fascinating experience.

For the first time, viewers got to watch the HG's move in, live. And, also for the first time, we got to see DR sessions, live. They weren't entirely an “actual DR”, but we did get insight into each HG, unfiltered, which is something fans have wanted ever since the CBS Edit began using heavily scripted DR sessions in the episodes.

Neeley, one of the HG's, in her live DR session.

The other side of BBOTT has been difficult for me to digest.

America has tremendous influence this season. We're voting a third nominee, we're placing an eviction vote, we are voting on have-nots every week, we're sending one HG a "care package" every week until week 8 and lastly, we are voting on the winner.

All the power 'America' (the viewers) has this season.

When BBOTT was announced and we learned of America's powers, I wasn't thrilled. A little influence is fine, but this is overwhelming. Most importantly, there is a returner in the game. Why in the world would you bring back a player on a season where America picks the winner? It seems a little unfair, right?

The house is already divided.  I could be here all day discussing the division at length. But, here's the bottom line:  In order for this experience to be entertaining, the show needs its villains.

America has already overwhelmingly decided they don't like one side of the house and “America” plans to punish, punish and punish them some more. If America does not wake up and realize what they're doing, BBOTT could get boring very fast, very quickly.

I imagine if I were an HG and if I found myself on “the wrong side” and getting knocked down by America every week, I would probably quit. Why waste my time fighting a battle that can not be won?

The game of Big Brother is so heavily dependent on power shifts and with Producers making America all-powerful, they have significantly hurt their show.

Now, before the season began, I told myself  I would not critique the Producers. I would simply watch and enjoy.

But COME ON.... You put a vet in the house and then give America all the power? America has become an HG and will dominate this game, killing the chance for any sort of  power shift.

The only saving grace is that an HG that might be on America's bad side could win veto. Oh, but one of the care packages gives the veto to someone of America's choosing...

Let's just evict Monte, Alex, Whitney, and Morgan right now and hand Jason the 250K.

It's  ridiculous.
